Open Data

The Open Knowledge Foundation defines open data as "data that can be freely accessed, used, modified and shared by anyone and for any purpose, subject at most to the requirements of attribution and openness (share-alike)".

The use, in all its forms, of CTM Spa's Open Data is subject to the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Italy licence and acceptance of the conditions set out in the legal notes on the use of CTM Spa's open data. Access to CTM Spa's Open Data entails acceptance of the following legal notes:

– Unless otherwise and explicitly indicated, CTM Spa's Open Data may be freely reused in accordance with the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Italy licence.
– No authorisation is required to create hyperlinks to the public pages of CTM Spa's Open Data.
– CTM Spa will update information relating to Open Data as promptly as possible, but cannot in any case be held responsible for any inaccuracies or incompleteness in the information.

CTM Spa makes numerous pieces of information available about the service and network operation. Datasets are updated in real time and are available free of charge.
If you use the data within an application, please download and create cache copies for your users and do not download the data from CTM Spa's server at intervals of less than 4 hours.

The file, in self-explanatory csv format, contains data on all travel ticket resellers authorised by CTM spa.

The zip package contains the files that make up the feed supplied to the Google Transit system. The various files describe the descriptive data of the scheduled service of CTM lines. In particular:

• agency.txt – Contains encoded data on the transport agency (CTM Spa)
• stops.txt – Contains data on the poles that constitute the stops of the various lines
• routes.txt – Contains the description of the individual lines
• trips.txt – Describes the route, stop by stop, of each line (route)
• stop_times – Contains timetables for each stop for each individual trip
• calendar.txt – Describes the period and days of the week for which the information described in trips.txt is valid
• fare_attributes.txt – Contains information on CTM Spa fares
• shapes.txt – Contains the description of the road route taken by each individual trip. The route is described by pairs of lat-long coordinates that make up the vertices on which the route is drawn.
• feed_info.txt – Contains additional information including the validity dates of the entire package

The XML file contains text notices of service disruptions or modifications. Each notice is linked to one or more lines of the Public Transport service operated by CTM Spa.
